NEWS: Earthquakes To Host A&W Root Beer Float Night on August 5

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes will host their seventh annual A&W Root Beer Float Night on Saturday, Aug. 5, starting at 5:30 p.m. PT in the 7UP Epicenter prior to the club’s match against Columbus Crew SC. The inter-conference matchup is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Fans will have delicious A&W Root Beer Floats prepared for them by a host of recognizable Bay Area celebrities, including U.S. Women’s National Team veteran Brandi Chastain, 99.7 [NOW!] morning show personalities Greg Sherrell, Shan Berries and Jackie Hollywood, and Quakes broadcasters Anthony Passarelli, Chris Dangerfield and Danielle Slaton. These local celebrities have linked up with the Earthquakes to scoop, pour and serve A&W Root Beer Floats for a good cause.

"A&W Root Beer Float Night has become an annual tradition at Earthquakes matches,” said A&W Marketing Director Kevin Brandvold. “We are very pleased to be partnering with the team once again to give supporters the opportunity to enjoy a classic A&W Float while helping make a difference in the community.”

All fans are asked to make a recommended $5 donation per float, with all proceeds benefitting the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of Positive Coaching Alliance, an organization dedicated to the development of young athletes and youth sports in the Bay Area.

“Root Beer Float Night is a fun, family-oriented event that provides Quakes fans of all ages with an opportunity to interact with many of their favorite sports and media celebrities from our community,” said San Francisco Bay Area Positive Coaching Alliance Executive Director Brian Watson. “PCA believes youth sports offers the best setting to teach and build character in young people, and we are grateful for the generosity and support the Earthquakes have shown PCA and our San Francisco Bay Area Chapter.”

Each fan that makes the recommended donation will also receive an A&W souvenir cup while supplies last.
