PREVIEW: USMNT faces Trinidad and Tobago with World Cup Qualification on the line

Chris Wondolowski - USA _ 2017 - Avaya Stadium Tunnel

Don’t Stop Believing

Overcoming Anibal Godoy and Panama on Friday 4-0, Chris Wondolowski and the USMNT jumped into third place to keep their qualification hopes alive. However, the Americans will need to secure points again as they face Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow for a chance to officially punch their ticket to Russia.
Despite being ruled out for qualification, Trinidad and Tobago are looking to give the Americans an upset. A win for the Americans will guarantee them an automatic bid. However with a loss, Panama or even Honduras can automatically qualify (assuming either side wins). Even with a loss, the Americans may remain in third or fourth place, depending on other results, and would potentially have to compete in the inter-confederation playoff against Syria or Australia.
