As important as it is for the San Jose Earthquakes to take care of their own business this weekend, the Bay Area club will need a little help to reach the postseason.
Tonight’s match pitting second place Sporting Kansas City and fifth place Houston Dynamo directly impacts the Quakes’ hopes for making the 2017 playoffs. Houston are just one point ahead of San Jose on points earned (43 to 42) and have played one fewer match to date. Tonight is their game in hand, so for them to walk out of BBVA Compass Stadium with little to nothing to show from it may prove crucial.
Quakes fans should pay attention to tonight’s match and root for Sporting Kansas City to pick up all three points.
