"THE QUAKES ARE IN MY HEART AND THEY’LL ALWAYS WILL BE.”

What does it mean to be a Devotion Scarf recipient?

“For me, it’s a tremendous honor. After spending 10 years with this organization to be honored like this is something I’ve never expected. I’m proud to have that. It’s a tremendous honor and I’m very thankful for everyone doing this for me. It’s something I’ll take with me for the rest of my life. The Quakes are in my heart and they’ll always will be.”

What has been your favorite moment over those 10 years?

“My most memorable moment was when the Quakes won the Supporters Shield. The excitement of that night on the pitch and in the locker room and I was doing my job and cleaning things up, the players would spray me with champagne. Seeing the joy on their faces, that was a special night.”

"I’VE SPENT A LOT OF DAYS AWAY ON WEEKENDS, BUT THEY KNOW IT’S MY PASSION AND THEY’VE SUPPORTED IT."

Explain what you do on game days with the club?

“I’m here five hours before kickoff. I set up the locker room and get it ready for the team before they come in. From drink product and the food in the locker room to everything that guys onto the pitch, I help prepare it. When the equipment manager comes in, I try to assist them as much as I can. I assist with warm-ups, halftime and luggage after the game and helping them get back to the hotel after the Quakes have won.”

Who would you like to thank for this award?

“I especially want to thank my wife and family for allowing me to do this the past 10 years. I’ve spent a lot of days away on weekends, but they know it’s my passion and they’ve supported it and I’m appreciative. I want to thank the whole Quakes organization, especially my direct report Luke who has supported me throughout and has had continued trust and faith in me. It means more than anything. I also want to thank my game day staff that comes in. Brian Holmes, Jerry Johnson and all the crew that works on game day: I think they’re the best crew in MLS. Everyone does their job and they’re a great group to work with. That will be the biggest thing that I’ll miss.”

"TO BE BESTOWED WITH THIS DEVOTION SCARF IS AN HONOR."

This will be your last game working with the club. What will October 22 mean to you?

“I never expected this. It came as a complete surprise. It’s something I’m very thankful for. The Quakes are in my heart. I love this team. I’ve supported them all these years and it will always be that way. To be bestowed with this devotion scarf is an honor. It will be a special thing and will have a special place in my home forever.”
