Earthquakes Forward Chris Wondolowski Joins Common Goal Movement

San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski has pledged to donate at least one percent of his salary to high-impact soccer charities by joining the Common Goal movement. Wondolowski is the first male professional in the United States to join the movement launched by Manchester United’s Juan Mata, and follows in the footsteps of U.S. Women’s National Team stars Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and Heather O’Reilly as well as 20 other professionals from around the world.


Earthquakes Midfielder Jahmir Hyka Nominated for AT&T Goal of the Year

San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Jahmir Hyka has been selected as a finalist for the 2017 AT&T Goal of the Year Award for his game-winner against FC Dallas on May 20. Voting remains open for the award until midnight Nov. 13. He finished the season with five assists, tied for second most on the team, and three goals in his debut season for the club.


Quakes Defender Nick Lima Finishes Fourth in MLS Rookie of the Year Voting

Earthquakes defender Nick Lima finished fourth in the MLS Rookie of the Year voting. Overall, he tied for third in the player vote, finished fourth in the media vote and tied for fourth in the club technical staff vote. Voting results can be found here.


Chris Wondolowski Ranked No. 23 on List of Top-Selling adidas MLS Jerseys

Major League Soccer announced on Nov.10 the 25 best-selling jerseys in MLS during the 2017 season, with Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski making the list at No. 23. Full list can be found here.


San Jose Earthquakes Midfielder Vako Called Up to the Georgia National Team

San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Vako played in a pair of International friendlies with the Georgia National Team on Nov. 10 and Nov. 13. On Nov.10 Georgia won 1-0 over Cyprus at Tengiz Burjanadze Stadium in Gori, Georgia. On Nov. 13, the Georgians drew 2-2 with Belarus at Ramaz Shengelia Stadium in Kutaisi, Georgia.


Three Members of the Quakes Academy Called to U-14 National Team Camp

Three players from the Quakes U-15 Boys’ Academy have joined the U.S. U-14 Boys’ National Team for training camp in Chula Vista, Calif. The three players include midfielder Diego Luna, defender Casey Walls and winger Leonardo ‘Wish’ Martinez. The camp began on Nov. 11 and will run through Nov. 18.


Earthquakes Girls’ Academy Midfielder Sophie Jones Ranked No. 20 in Nation

TopDrawerSoccer rated San Jose Earthquakes Girls’ Academy midfielder Sophie Jones, a four-star recruit and Duke University commit, as the nation’s 20th best player for the class of 2019. Among all players in the class of 2019, Jones is rated as the second-best player in California, third-best in the Northern California and Hawaii region and eighth-best midfielder in the nation. She is currently with the U.S. U-17 national team, participating in a training camp that began on Nov.11 and will end on Nov.19 in Florida and Mexico City. Quakes Auction Lars Frederiksen Signed Memorabilia for North Bay Fire Relief

The San Jose Earthquakes are auctioning four Quakes firefighter appreciation hats and one scarf signed by Rancid guitarist and vocalist and frontman of The Old Firm Casuals Lars Frederiksen. Bids for the auction will start at $40 for each hat and $60 for the scarf. The auction will run until midnight on Nov. 16 via the Quakes’ Gesture page.
