This Sunday, Dec 3, Winterfest will be back at Avaya Stadium! This year, attendees will receive a free Quakes edition Elf on a Shelf after spending $74 at the Team Store.

The Elf on a Shelf tradition started from a 2005 children’s picture book, which tells a Christmas themed story that explains how Santa Claus knows who’s naughty and who’s nice. The book explains that “Scout Elves” hide in peoples homes to watch over events, both good and bad, then once everybody goes to sleep they return to the North Pole to report the days activities to Santa.

The elves hide in a new spot every morning, playing a game of hide and seek with the family using their Christmas magic, which they get after being named by a child.

The second annual holiday festival will include activities like arts and crafts stations, several photo opportunities for annual holiday cards, and will feature a giant inflatable snow globe as well as 20 tons of snow perfect for making snow angels and snowmen.

The festival will take place between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, but be sure to arrive early on before the snow melts. General admission is free, however canned goods or new and gently used toys are a suggested donation upon entry.

Ticketed activities will benefit the Quakes Foundation, and will range between $1 and $3. Unlimited activity wristbands will be available for $25. Attendees will also receive a free Elf on a Shelf with the purchase of three wristbands.

The Earthquakes will be hosting a toy drive benefiting several local non-profits. Families associated with the organizations can enjoy attending the festival early, during an exclusive window of entry between 9:00 and 10:00 am.
