ACADEMY UPDATE
The Quakes Girls’ Academy participated in the U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy Winter Showcase from Dec. 6-10 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
The U-15s went undefeated in their matches, beating Sky Blue – NYSC 5-0 on Wednesday, Dec. 6, tying Indiana Fire Academy 0-0 on Friday, Dec. 8 and defeating the Houston Dash 2-1 on Saturday, Dec. 9.
On Thursday, Dec. 7, the U-17s fell to the Michigan Hawks 4-2 and suffered the same score line on Saturday, Dec. 9 against the Oakwood Soccer Club. The U-17s concluded the tournament on Sunday, Dec. 10 with a 3-2 loss to the Charlotte Soccer Academy.
The U-19s had a successful tournament going 2-1-0 in their matches. On Thursday, Dec. 7 they fell 5-4 to FC Kansas City, on Saturday, Dec. 9 they beat Weston FC 3-0 and on Sunday, Dec. 10 they defeated PA Classics 3-1.\
The Quakes Boys’ Academy is currently in the offseason, having competed in the 2017 Winter Showcase from Nov. 30 – Dec. 4. They will return to action in January.
