It sure felt like the Quakes were constantly representing various national teams around the world. A recent study by CIES Football Observatory confirmed that notion, as the Quakes ranked No. 29 in the world, No. 3 among non-European clubs and No. 1 in MLS in minutes played for full national teams this calendar year.

The Earthquakes had a host of players that made at least one appearance at the highest level internationally in 2017, including Anibal Godoy (Panama), Harold Cummings (Panama), Marco Ureña (Costa Rica), Vako (Georgia), Jahmir Hyka (Albania), Darwin Ceren (El Salvador), Kip Colvey (New Zealand) and more.

Traditional world powers such as FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all sit at or near the top of the list, but only Nicaraguan side Real Esteli and Al Sadd of Qatar ranked ahead of San Jose among non-European clubs.
