Earthquakes to Participate in 2018 MLS SuperDraft in Philadelphia on Friday

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes will participate in the 2018 Major League Soccer SuperDraft this Friday, Jan. 19, and currently hold five total selections, including No. 12 overall.


The first two rounds of the SuperDraft will take place live at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia and begins at 8 a.m. PT. The Quakes hold three picks in the first two rounds at No. 12, No. 30 and No. 35 overall. San Jose acquired the 30th overall selection by trading defender Shaun Francis to the Montreal Impact last July.


The third and fourth rounds of the SuperDraft will be held via conference call on Sunday, Jan. 21. The Earthquakes have the 12th pick in each of the two rounds, at No. 58 and 81 overall.


Each of the Quakes’ last three first round SuperDraft selections remain with the team heading into the 2018 season, including midfielders Fatai Alashe (2015, No. 4) and Jackson Yueill (2017, No. 6) and goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell (2016, No. 8).
