FEATURE: Four things to know about midfielder Eric Calvillo

Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli has identified and signed a player for the future in Eric Calvillo. Here are four things to know about the Quakes’ newest midfielder.



1. The 20-year-old Calvillo (1/2/98) is the second-youngest player on the Quakes’ roster behind 16-year-old Homegrown defender Jacob Akanyirige.

2. Calvillo has a history with the U.S. Youth National Team system and competed alongside players such as Tyler Adams and Christian Pulisic at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.



3. He has spent the last two seasons with the NASL’s New York Cosmos. In 2017, he was twice named to the NASL’s Team of the Week, selected as Player of the Week once and earned Player of the Month honors in July.



4. Calvillo is a native of Palmdale, Calif. and spent his youth career with Real So Cal before turning pro.
