A look back on important moments in Earthquakes history that took place during the week of Jan. 22 – 28

Jan. 22, 2014 – Signed Tommy Thompson as the Club’s First Homegrown Player
The San Jose Earthquakes signed midfielder Tommy Thompson to as the club’s first Homegrown Player. 2017 proved to be a memorable year for Thompson, who earned many career-high accomplishments: his first goal for the club, four assists, 16 starts and 1,534 minutes played. Besides his efforts on the pitch, Tommy won the club’s Andrew Bedard Spirit of the Game Award/Humanitarian of the Year award for his charitable efforts. In 2016, Tommy was selected for the Chipotle Homegrown game against Mexico U-20 squad and captained the Homegrown side in the first half.

Jan. 26, 2016 – Announced Jersey Partnership with Sutter Health
The Earthquakes announced a historic multi-year partnership agreement that includes the Northern California healthcare network’s name on the front of the Earthquakes jerseys.
