Feb. 4, 2001 –Acquired Defender Jeff Agoos

The Earthquakes acquired defender Jeff Agoos from D.C. United in exchange for two first round draft picks and forward Abdul Thompson Conteh on Feb. 4, 2001. During his four seasons with the Quakes, Agoos made 109 appearances, notching five goals, and helped the team win the 2001 and 2003 MLS Cups.


Feb. 1, 2005 –Signed Defender Troy Dayak to New Contract

The Earthquakes signed defender Troy Dayak to a new contract on Feb. 1, 2005. Dayak previously played for the Clash between 1996 and 1998 and rejoined the Quakes on April 5, 2001. During his eight seasons with San Jose, Dayak made 122 starts and 129 appearances. Dayak helped the team win the 2001 and 2003 MLS Cups.


Feb. 4, 2005 –Selected Chris Wondolowski in the MLS Supplemental Draft

On Feb. 4, 2005 the Earthquakes selected forward Chris Wondolowski in the MLS Supplemental Draft with the No. 41 pick. Wondolowski has gone on to break several Earthquakes and MLS records. With 134 regular season career goals, he is currently tied for second and shy just 12 goals from surpassing Landon Donovan as the all-time MLS leading goal scorer.


Jan. 30, 2014 – Unveiled new club logo and jerseys during a public event at San Pedro Square

The Earthquakes unveiled their new club logo at San Pedro Square Marked on Jan. 30, 2014. The logo and new uniforms were unveiled to fans during a special presentation that included current and past Earthquakes players, and a performance by the Old Firm Casuals, featuring Bay Area punk legend Lars Frederiksen.


Feb. 2, 2017 – Signed Dutch Forward Danny Hoesen on season-long loan

The Earthquakes signed forward Danny Hoesen on a season-long loan on Feb. 2, 2017. Last season he played 32 games and made 20 starts, scoring five goals and tallying five assists. The Quakes later acquired Hoesen on permanent transfer on Dec. 29, 2017.


Feb. 2, 2017 – Signed German Defender/Midfielder Florian Jungwirth

The Earthquakes signed defender/midfielder Florian Jungwirth using Targeted Allocation Money on Feb. 2, 2017. In his first year with the Earthquakes, Jungwirth played in 31 games, tallying two goals with two assists. Jungwirth was named the 2017 Earthquakes’ Defensive Player of the Year and played the second most minutes for the club with 2,690.


Feb. 3, 2017 – Signed Albania National Team Midfielder Jahmir Hyka

The Earthquakes signed Albania National Team midfielder Jahmir Hyka to a multi-year contract using Targeted Allocation Money on Feb. 3, 2017. Hyka played 30 games and made 21 starts in 2017, tallying three goals and five assists. Hyka committed a total of six fouls over 1,871 minutes earning him a nomination as a finalist for the 2017 MLS Fair Play award.
