NEWS: Quakes U-12s Go Undefeated at U.S. Soccer NorCal Futsal Showcase in Walnut Creek, Calif.

The Quakes Boy’s Academy enjoyed a successful weekend at the U-12 level at the U.S. Soccer NorCal Futsal Showcase in Walnut Creek, Calif.


The U-12s were split into two groups at the tournament, blue and red, with the winner of the blue group facing the winner of the red in the final.


The Quakes’ U-12 “blue team” won their group, beating Sacramento Republic FC 7-3, DeAnza Force 8-1 and Mustang 11-0.  They then faced Sacramento Republic FC’s “red team” in the final and won 6-4.


“The players had a lot of fun and worked really hard as a team to win all four games,” said Quakes Academy U-12 coach Mark Christie. “It was an amazing, fast paced event with so much talent on show from all the Bay Area clubs.”


Beginning Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, more than 3,000 players from 153 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Member Clubs are gathering or have gathered in 10 U.S. cities for the 2018 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Futsal Showcase. The showcase is for the U-12 age group only, and is one of the premier events for scouting and talent identification.
