RECAP: Quakes, RSL Draw 1-1 in Final Tucson Friendly

TUCSON, Ariz. – The San Jose Earthquakes played to a 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake in the team’s second and final friendly in Tucson, Arizona. The Quakes will now return to San Jose to continue preparations for the 2018 MLS regular season.



After a second-half goal for RSL by Alfredo Ortuno, the Earthquakes responded five minutes later. Defender Joel Qwiberg got past his man on the end-line before sending in a cross. Tommy Thompson headed the ball across the box for Quincy Amarikwa, whose leaping header snuck just inside the near post.


San Jose returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 10, when the Quakes host their USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC. Tickets remain for the match that kicks off at 2 p.m. and can be purchased here.
