SAN JOSE, Calif – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club will honor first responders with a variety of activations on Opening Night against Minnesota United FC, presented by Avaya, on Saturday, March 3 set to kick off at 7:15 p.m.

Fans arriving at Avaya Stadium for the first match of the 2018 MLS regular season can take advantage of photo opportunities with first responder vehicles. Ahead of kickoff, San Jose Police Officer Katie Reyes will perform the national anthem accompanied by a color guard presentation.

Following the match, the San Jose Police Department and San Jose Fire Department will take the pitch and compete in the first-ever First Responder Cup. Quakes alumni will serve as the coaches for each team and money raised throughout the evening from the 50/50 raffle will benefit the Police Amateur Athletic Foundation, PAAF.
