Eric Calvillo - JT Marcinkowski - 2018 - Quakes

Two members of the San Jose Earthquakes led the club’s USL affiliate to their first win of the 2018 preseason, and against an MLS side no less.

Quakes midfielder Eric Calvillo and goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski both started the closed-door scrimmage held at UC Davis. Calvillo scored the match’s lone goal in the 34th minute, while Marcinkowski kept the shutout. The duo, both 20 years old, are the third and fourth youngest players on the Quakes roster, respectively.

Both of the Earthquakes’ second-round SuperDraft selections, Danny Musovski and Mohamed Thiaw, were also came on as substitutes for Reno.

Seattle used seven First Team players in the starting lineup, including goalkeeper Bryan Meredith, defender Nouhou Tolo and forwards Clint Dempsey and Will Bruin.
