NEWS: Jimmy Conrad, Quakes Alumni Star in New 2018 Digital Content Series

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes launched today seven new digital content series for the 2018 season, featuring soccer icons like Jimmy Conrad, Joe Cannon and Chris Dangerfield, along with local media personalities. The series include videos, written pieces, podcasts and shows on social media that will extend throughout the 2018 regular season and will be hosted on the Quakes website, sjearthquakes.com, as well as the club’s social media channels.


The new series include both on and off field topics that are tailored to the interests of Quakes fans, giving them new ways to engage with the club and absorb new perspectives about the team.


WWJJD: What Would Jimmy & Joe Do

Featuring YouTube star and former U.S. national team and Quakes defender Jimmy Conrad alongside Earthquakes Hall of Fame goalkeeper and radio color analyst Joe Cannon, WWJJD explores the untold stories from the Quakes players’ lives. Each month, Conrad and Cannon will release a new episode that will include challenges with players, and give glimpses into a day in the life of a pro. The pair will also look back on unique stories from their long professional careers. Monthly episodes will be released throughout the season, including special episodes for the MLS All-Star game and playoffs. Keep an eye out for the first episode on March 19.


Off Pitch 74

This podcast gives listeners all the off-field details about the Quakes. For every Quakes home game this season, new multimedia personalities Kat Soltero and Dianne Antonopoulos talk about everything relating to the Quakes, except what happens on the field. Topics include MLS gossip, social media run-downs, player interviews, first hand accounts of the Quakes front office and random thoughts as they pertain to the game. Tactical Breakdown with Danger and Danielle

Two-time Olympic medal winner with the U.S. Women’s National Team and member of the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame Danielle Slaton along with NASL Quakes alumnus Chris Dangerfield will provide tactical analysis in this weekly video series. Also known from the Quakes television broadcasts on NBC Sports California, Slaton and Dangerfield will use their expertise to analyze specific plays, formations and key moments from the previous week’s game. View from the Booth with Ted Ramey

This weekly written column by Quakes play-by-play radio announcer and host of the Soccer Hour on KNBR 1050, Ted Ramey, will provide a peripheral take on the Quakes matches. The column will include analysis from the previous Quakes matches and players, while giving fans insight about the upcoming games. Doing what he does best, Ted Ramey will also record weekly podcasts about upcoming games, key players and events from around the league. Live with Ryan Covay

Ryan Covay from KNBR 680’s “KNBR Tonight with Ryan Covay” is coming to Avaya Stadium to provide fan perspective and in-game commentary for all Quakes home matches this season. During the matches, Covay will check in on Facebook Live and Periscope to discuss key plays, players and events around the stadium. Following the match, he will record discussions with fans about the game as they leave.
