RENO 1868 FC UPDATE: USL affiliate falls in thrilling home opener

On Saturday, March 17, Reno 1868 FC lost to Swope Park Rangers 4-3 in their home opener. Quakes players JT Marcinkowski, Eric Calvillo and Chris Wehan all started the match for Reno. Wehan scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute to give Reno the early lead.



Reno’s second match of the season will take place this Saturday, March 24 when they face their new rivals Las Vegas Lights FC at Cashman Field.


In other news, the San Jose Earthquakes announced that the club has signed defender Paul Marie, the club’s first-round selection in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft. Marie has immediately been loaned to Reno 1868 FC and can be recalled at any point this season. Reno has also signed midfielder Kevin Partida, a third round pick by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.
