NEWS: Quakes Power Rankings: Week 4

Vako - Celebration - Opening Day 2018

The last time the Quakes played a home match... March 3... seems like forever ago, but the team is ready for this weekends home matchup, and boy is it a doozy.

Saturday, March 31, the Earthquakes take on NYCFC and their undefeated record, at 4:45 P.M. NYCFC is scheduled to welcome back David Villa, after missing two games due to injury, but the Quakes are 8-1-1 over their last 10 MLS games at Avaya Stadium,  and  are more than up to the challenge.  This is a game you won’t want to miss.

Coming off of an international friendly vs. Club Leon, the Earthquakes are ready to make their climb back up the power rankings, here is were the national media has them after the first 4 weeks.

Soccer America No. 12:

A friendly with Leon proffered Landon Donovan a chance to score against one of his former MLS teams, which he did. Heading into Saturday’s visit of NYCFC he is 10 goals ahead of Chris Wondolowski on the MLS all-time list.”

ESPN No. 11:

“The Quakes used their off week to play a friendly against former Earthquake player Landon Donovan and Club Leon.

MLS No. 14:

“The Quakes are back at home this week, but will face the top team in our rankings. Their defense has also been retooled, and will Anibal Godoy rebound from a poor outing two weeks ago against Sporting KC?”

Wondo Watch

With 135 career goals, Chris Wondolowski needs just 10 to tie Landon Donovan for the all time mark.

Speaking of goal scoring, did you see Vako's goal this week. We are glad he is back on the pitch for the Black and Blue.

The Quakes return home this weekend, Saturday, March 31 at 4:45 P.M vs NYCFC, presented by Valley Health Plan.
