NEWS: Earthquakes to Host Ninth Annual Corporate Cup at Santa Clara University

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes will host the ninth annual Corporate Cup, presented by Bud Light, at Stanton Field on the campus of Santa Clara University on Saturday, July 21.

Participation is open to any group capable of creating a 10-person team and covering the cost of registration, including businesses, Quakes Season Pass Holders, former soccer players, community groups and more.

The 5v5 tournament will take place on small-sided fields with goalkeepers, using futsal goals. The tournament will have both Men’s and Co-Ed divisions and is limited to 24 teams, sixteen of which will be in the Men’s division and eight of which will be in the Co-Ed division.  Co-Ed teams must have at least four women on the team, with two on the field at all times. Trophies will be awarded to the two championship-winning teams as well as the leading scorer in each division.

Early Bird registration is $1,800 per team through May 31, before rising to $2,400 on June 1. Earthquakes Season Pass Holders will be given Early Bird pricing as long as there are open spots remaining. The price of registration includes t-shirts for all players, a lunch buffet, and 20 tickets to the California Clasico at Stanford Stadium on Saturday, June 30 against Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the rival LA Galaxy. Participating organizations will also have an opportunity to purchase additional tickets for the Clasico at a discounted rate typically reserved for groups of 100 or more.

The event also serves as a networking opportunity, with many top brands around the Bay Area expected to compete. In recent years, companies such as Amazon, GoPro, eBay, Paypal and KPMG have fielded teams.

With each team that signs up, the Quakes will donate tickets to the Kicks for Kids program, sponsoring underprivileged youth to attend an Earthquakes match.

Early registration is recommended, and the first five teams to sign up will get 10 tickets to the Quakes’ match against the Portland Timbers at Avaya Stadium on May 5. To receive more information about the event, please fill out the form here.
