NEWS: Quakes Call Up Draft Picks Mohamed Thiaw and Kevin Partida for Open Cup Match against Portland

The Quakes have called up Mohamed Thiaw and Kevin Partida for the Fourth Round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against the Portland Timbers on Wednesday, June 6. The Quakes selected Thiaw (University of Louisville, No. 35) and Partida (University of Nevada, Las Vegas, No. 58) in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, and later signed Thiaw while Partida signed with the club’s USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC.


Thiaw has spent the 2018 season on loan with Reno, making 10 appearances. He was named to the USL Team of the Week twice in May after tallying two goals and two assists during the month.


Partida has made nine appearances and scored one goal for 1868 FC. He earned USL Team of the Week honors on May 1 after scoring his first professional goal in the 2-0 win against OKC Energy FC on April 28, a nominee for USL Goal of the Week.
