QUICK HITS: Danny Hoesen on fire, World Cup update

In Form

On Wednesday, Earthquakes forward Danny Hoesen scored two goals against the New England Revolution, giving him nine goals for the 2018 MLS season. Hoesen currently shares the fourth place spot on MLS’ top goal scorers list for the 2018 season, trailing Josef Martinez, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Gyasi Zardes. Hoesen and Wright-Phillips are the only two players in the MLS with at least nine goals and four assists this season.

2018 FIFA World Cup

The Quakes will play Saturday’s match without Anibal Godoy and Harold Cummings who are currently participating in the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the Panama National Team. The Quakes are one of seven MLS teams to send multiple players to the World Cup this year.

Calling Reinforcements

Tommy Time

In the Quakes’ last MLS match against the New England Revolution, midfielder Tommy Thompson earned his first start of the season and his 38th for the club.
