Wine and Dine - 2018 Quakes

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club will host the seventh annual Wine and Dine with the Quakes event on Friday, Oct. 19 from 6-10 p.m. PT at the Boulder Ridge Golf Club in San Jose. All proceeds will benefit the Quakes Foundation, which works to facilitate unity through sport and support programs that produce positive change for children and families in the community with an emphasis on health and fitness.

“We are really excited to announce this year’s event with a greater emphasis on the wine tasting experience, while still providing fans the unique opportunity to dine with an Earthquakes player,” said Earthquakes Director of Community Relations Marissa Silver. “We have partnered with Joseph George Fine Wines to put wine at the forefront of the event for our fans, team and guests.”

The event will feature unlimited tastings from California’s renowned wine country, including Far Niente Winery, Duckhorn Vineyards, Silver Oak Cellars, Caymus Vineyards, Miner Family Winery and Rombauer Vineyards. Wine will be available for purchase as well, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Quakes Foundation. Attendees will also have an opportunity to take home limited edition, custom-etched bottles, and the option to bid on wine experiences, signed memorabilia, once-in-a-lifetime outings with players and ticket packages from top European soccer clubs.

“Over the years, my Napa Valley winery partners have given so much of their time, wine and money to support the South Bay and our local charities,” said Bert George of Joseph George Fine Wines. “This first event with the Earthquakes is going to be amazing for everyone involved.”

Individual tickets are on sale now for $250 per person. Tables are also available for $2,500 and come with the option to select the Earthquakes player that dines at the table. Player requests are subject to availability on a first come, first serve basis and pricing for premium players may vary. Guests must be 21 years or older to attend.

The Quakes Foundation works throughout the year to serve the community, and during the North Bay fires last October, the Quakes Foundation joined forces with the six other Bay Area professional sports teams to donate $450,000 to support the fire relief efforts. In 2017, the Quakes Foundation organized a fundraiser that totaled $40,000 to help the flood victims in San Jose and in 2016, it received the Community Impact Award from the Silicon Valley Business Journal for its philanthropic efforts.
