ACADEMY: Frias Tallies Hat Trick, McCormack and Evans Feature in 8-0 Win Over Jamaica

On Aug. 7, 2018, the United States U-15 Girls’ National Team earned an 8-0 win over Jamaica in their first match of the U-15 CONCACAF Championship. Earthquakes Academy players America Frias, Elise Evans and Yuna McCormack all featured in the match.


Frias was a clear standout, scoring three goals after being subbed into the match at halftime. McCormack started the match as the U-15s’ defensive center midfielder, playing the first half before being subbed off. Evans came into the match in the 51st minute and helped secure the clean sheet for the U.S.

After the first day of matches for Group A, the U.S. is in the lead with three points, closely followed by Portugal, who have three points and a plus five goal-differential. El Salvador and Jamaica have zero points and hold Group A’s third and fourth place positions, respectively.   


Frias, McCormack, Evans and the U-15s will take on Portugal on Aug. 8 at 6 a.m. PT and then El Salvador on Aug. 10 at 6 a.m. PT. All of the United States’ matches can be streamed live on Concacaf.com.
