U-15 GNT Huddle

On Aug. 8, 2018, the United States U-15 Girlsā€™ National Team suffered a 2-0 loss to Portugal in their second match of the U-15 CONCACAF Championship. The U.S. struggled to find their footing in the match after conceding a pair of penalty kicks. The U-15s now need a win in their next match against El Salvador in order to punch their ticket to the semifinals.

Earthquakes Academy players Elise Evans, Yuna McCormack and America Frias all featured against Portugal. Evans started for the U.S. at center back and would play 51 minutes before being subbed off for attacking reinforcements. McCormack was subbed into the match at halftime as the U-15sā€™ defensive center midfielder. Frias, who scored a hat trick in the U-15sā€™ first match against Jamaica, was subbed into the match in the 51st minute.

Portugal now sits on top of Group A with six points, followed by the U.S., who have three points and a plus six goal-differential. El Salvador is in third place with three points and a minus four goal-differential while Jamaica holds the fourth place position with zero points.

Evans, McCormack, Frias and the U-15s will take on El Salvador on Aug. 10 at 6 a.m. PT. The match will be streamed live on Concacaf.com.
