The Quakes have not lost at home to the New York Red Bulls since Oct. 5, 2003 and have an all-time 13-2-3 home record against them. The only time the two sides faced each other at Avaya Stadium, the Quakes won 2-0 (April 13, 2016).

New York comes to the Quakes in the midst of the Supporters’ Shield race. The Red Bulls, 62 points, are just one point behind Atlanta United FC in the overall standings and are coming off a 2-0 win over the leaders this past weekend. Both teams have three games left this season.
TT Makes his Mark
The Earthquakes’ first-ever Homegrown signing Tommy Thompson made his first start since July and just his third of the season this past Saturday against Houston. He made an impact as his run down the right flank drew a foul in the box, earning the Quakes a penalty.
Wondo Penalty Goals
Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski’s penalty kick goal against Houston was the 25th of his career and third of the season. Wondolowski’s 25 penalty kick goals rank third in MLS history behind Jaime Moreno (44) and Landon Donovan (31).
Double-Digit Goals
Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski currently holds Major League Soccer’s record for double-digit goals scored in consecutive seasons with eight (2010-17). With one more goal this season, he would extend his own record to nine.
