Earthquakes Head Coach Matias Almeyda Named Concacaf Coach of the Year

San Jose Earthquakes head coach Matias Almeyda has been named the 2018 Men's Football Coach of the Year by Concacaf. Almeyda led Mexico's Chivas de Guadalajara to the Concacaf Champions League title in April of 2018, their first such championship since the tournament's inaugural competition in 1962. During the tournament, Almeyda led the Mexican side to consecutive victories over MLS clubs Seattle Sounders FC (quarterfinal), New York Red Bulls (semifinal) and Toronto FC (final). Earthquakes Announce 2019 Preseason Schedule

The San Jose Earthquakes announced their full 2019 preseason schedule, which includes friendlies against USL side Reno 1868 FC and MLS Western Conference foes LAFC and Seattle Sounders FC. The Quakes will also spend time in Mexico preparing for opening day on March 2. Read the full story here .

San Jose Earthquakes have signed veteran goalkeeper Daniel Vega, who comes to San Jose with experience from his native Argentina, Cyprus and the United States. Vega speaks both English and Spanish. Find out more here.


Bacon and Beer Classic Comes to Avaya Stadium April 13

Avaya Stadium will host the Bay Area's sixth-annual Bacon and Beer Classic on Saturday, April 13 from 2-5 p.m. The event will feature all-you-can-drink craft beer and cider provided by regional breweries, unlimited samples of bacon dishes from more than 30 restaurants, live music, games, a bacon-eating contest and more.
