RENO 1868 FC UPDATE: Reno suffer first defeat in last six matches

Reno 1868 FC - 2019 - Seth Casiple

Reno 1868 FC were eliminated from the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after Wednesday night’s 1-0 defeat to Sacramento Republic FC at Papa Murphy’s Park.

Reno continue their positive momentum in the USL Championship, securing a point in Saturday night’s 1-1 draw against the Tacoma Defiance at Cheney Stadium. The visitors initially trailed 1-0 after conceding a goal 10 seconds into the match, marking the fastest goal scored in USL Championship history. However, Reno forward Brian Brown was able to get a goal back for Reno in 83rd minute and force Tacoma to settle for a draw. Brown is now at seven goals this season. Reno have only been defeated once in their last six regular season matches (3-1-2). Quakes goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski was featured in the Starting XI for Reno and Quakes defender Kevin Partida entered the match as a substitute in the 46th minute.

Reno are off this weekend, but will resume their USL Championship schedule on Saturday, June 1 when they host Las Vegas Lights FC in the first Silver Cup matchup of 2019.
