FEATURE: USMNT takes on Panama in Group D decider

The United States Men's National Team will battle it out against Panama on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:00 p.m. to decide which nation takes the number one spot in Group D. Both teams have secured a quarter final berth with a possible matchup against Jamaica or Curaçao. The USMNT will earn the top spot with a win or draw against Panama. Panama must defeat the USMNT in order to secure first place in Group D. 


This will be the 10th matchup between the USMNT and Panama in this competition. The USMNT holds a considerable overall advantage with a record of 13-1-6 over Panama (5-1-4 in Gold Cup play). The USMNT has faced Panama in the Gold Cup Final on two occasions, 2005 and 2013, both resulting in a United States victory. 


Quakes defender Nick Lima will start on the bench for the U.S. while Harold Cummings begins the night in the starting XI. Lima has tallied one assist in this years competition.
