It was a memorable night at Stanford Stadium as the Earthquakes defeated the LA Galaxy 3-0 in this years' edition of the California Clasico. 50,000 fans packed into Stanford Stadium to witness what was to be a historical night for the Quakes. The 3-0 win was the first ever shut out in California Clasico history, while it was played in front of the largest crowd with 50,850 fans in attendance. Vako opened up the Quakes scoring account on the night with a beautiful finish off of an excellent set piece.
Shea Salinas doubled the Quakes lead in the second half off an assist from Vako and, as is tradition, the shirt came off.
