Special Olympics Unified 2017 2

The San Jose Earthquakes have partnered with Special Olympics Northern California once again to provide athletes of all ability levels the opportunity to be a part of a team and compete together. The goal of this initiative is to teach these athletes skills such as being a good teammate, good sportsmanship, spreading positivity, and encourage inclusion.

The Earthquakes Special Olympics Unified Team consists of 22 players between the ages of 16 and 25, both with and without intellectual disabilities.

On Saturday, August 3, the Quakes Special Olympics Unified Team is scheduled to play the Columbus Crew Special Olympics Unified Team at Avaya Stadium. After the Earthquakes first team concludes their match against the Columbus Crew, the match between the two unified teams will begin.

The Quakes encourage all fans to stick around after the match to cheer on both the Quakes and Crew Unified Teams as they play out on the field.
