NEW YORK – Major League Soccer has issued San Jose Earthquakes head coach Matias Almeyda an additional two-game suspension (three games total) for on-field misconduct during San Jose’s match against the Los Angeles Football Club on Aug. 21. The suspension is in addition to the one-game suspension as a result of being dismissed from the game.
Almeyda also has been issued an undisclosed fine by MLS Commissioner Don Garber for his on-field misconduct while being dismissed from the game.
Almeyda served the original dismissal suspension on Aug. 24 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. His additional game suspensions will include Aug. 31 against Orlando City SC and Sept. 11 against Real Salt Lake.
