Avaya Stadium - 2019 - Quakes

FEATURE: Securing a playoff spot on the line at Avaya Stadium

San Jose is currently in sixth place in the Western Conference with a 13-12-5 record (44 points). Only six points separate second-place Seattle (49 points) and eighth-place FC Dallas (43 points), with the conference’s top seven teams reaching the MLS Cup Playoffs.

The Earthquakes have an active 12-match home unbeaten streak dating back to April 6 (10-0-2) and will need to finish strong to secure their place in the postseason for the second time in the last three years. All four opponents remaining on the Quakes’ schedule are currently above the playoff line, with Atlanta, Philadelphia and Seattle each top three in their respective conferences.

As it Stands

San Jose are now 13-12-5 and are currently in sixth in the Western Conference standings. Three points lie between the Quakes and a spot in the top four in the West, with three matches to play before the season finale on Oct. 6.

The Quakes have tallied 49 goals this season with five matches remaining, already equaling their total from last year. With one more goal, San Jose would reach 50 in a single season for the fifth time in club history, and first time since 2012.

Helping Others

The Quakes have tallied 46 assists as a team this year, their second most in a single season since 2005 (2012 – 73).
