What is Courageous Kids Day?

This amazing event provides ‘a day away from cancer’ free of charge to nearly 600 young cancer patients and their families from throughout the state of California. Courageous Kids Day was founded in 1989 in partnership with California’s Great America and takes place annually on Mother’s Day.  It’s an extra-special, fun-packed day for the courageous kids and their families, allowing them to forget some of the stress and have fun together; a day of enjoying amusement rides, a picnic lunch, arts & crafts, family portraits, photographs with local celebrities, and other various activities.

Cancer patients and their families are invited to participate, free of charge, through their treatment centers. Please contact your treatment center for information on attending this event.

Community members are invited to support the event through fundraising and donations. Your financial support helps to underwrite this special day, while funding pediatric cancer research and the American Cancer Society’s mission to Save Lives, Celebrate Lives, and Lead the Fight for a World Without Cancer.
