Nick Lima - Jackson Yueill - Call Ups - 2019 - USMNT

SAN JOSE, Calif. â€“ San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown defender Nick Lima and midfielder Jackson Yueill have been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team for this month’s must-win Concacaf Nations League matches against Canada on Nov. 15 in Orlando and Cuba on Nov. 19 in George Town, Cayman Islands.

In order to qualify for the knockout round of the inaugural 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League, the USMNT must win both of its matches this month and make up a three-goal differential on current Group A leaders Canada. The USA looks for revenge when it takes on Les Rouges on Friday, Oct. 15 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando (4 p.m. PT; ESPN2, UniMas, TUDN). The team will then close out group play with a neutral-site match against Cuba on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town, Cayman Islands (4:30 p.m. PT; FS1, UniMas, TUDN).

Lima, 24, made 24 appearances for San Jose this season, including 21 starts. He signed for the Earthquakes as a Homegrown Player ahead of the 2017 season and has since recorded five goals and five assists in 80 appearances. Lima has tallied three assists in nine prior appearances for the U.S. National Team.

Yueill, 22, set single-season career-highs in appearances (32), starts (29), goals (3) and assists (5) in 2019. Now in his third pro season out of UCLA, Yueill has registered three goals and nine assists in 66 total MLS appearances. He has made four prior appearances for the USMNT, including two 90-minute performances in matches against Uruguay (1-1, Sept. 11) and Cuba (7-0, Oct. 12). He is age-eligible for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Lima (Weeks 10, 14 and 21) and Yueill (Weeks 9, 12 and 19) were each named to the MLS Team of the Week on three occasions in 2019.
