Since 2019, the Chevron Soccer Academy has been empowering youth in Monterey County. Back again for its 5th year, Chevron, in collaboration with the San Jose Earthquakes and Alianza de Futbol, returned to Salinas, Calif. to bring back the Chevron Soccer Academy on July 15-16, 2023.

Through this collaboration, approximately 175 boys and girls from Salinas, ages 9–15, received impactful soccer training from current and former professionals, including San Jose Earthquakes former player Shea Salinas, Quakes current goalkeeper Emi Ochoa, former Mexican international Luis Garcia, and former Colombian international Isabella Echeverri.

Additionally, approximately 140 U18 boys and girls, participated in a tryout in front of professional scouts. The tryout featured scouts from the San Jose Earthquakes, Los Angeles Football Club, U.S. Soccer, Sacramento Republic F.C., Atlas F.C., Club Santos Laguna, and Real Sporting de Gijon.

Youth also engaged with the Chevron STEM Zone, designed to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education through the science of soccer.

The Chevron Soccer Academy is designed to help ensure all children have access to youth soccer at a time when socioeconomic hardships can limit youth from competing in the sport they love. To learn more about the Chevron Soccer Academy, visit www.chevronsocceracademy.com.
