Reno 1868 FC fell to San Diego Loyal FC 4-2 on Saturday, Feb. 29, in its final preseason tune-up before the USL season opener. Reno forward Corey Hertzog scored a pair of goals, one just prior to halftime and the other five minutes into the second half, as Reno tried to mount a comeback. Hertzog’s goals brought Reno within one goal, trailing 3-2, though San Diego would go on to add one more goal before the final whistle.
Reno 1868 FC will kick off the 2020 USL season this week on Friday, March 6 by visiting the Tacoma Defiance at Cheney Stadium. The match will kick off at 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
