NEWS: Chivas vs. Club Leon match rescheduled for October 9

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The international friendly between Chivas de Guadalajara and Club Leon at Earthquakes Stadium, originally scheduled for March 28, 2020, has been rescheduled to October 9, 2021, with kickoff to take place at 4:30 p.m. PT.


All tickets already purchased for March 27 will remain valid for the rescheduled date. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster by clicking here. Fan Fest and other activations centered around the match will also occur on the rescheduled date prior to kickoff.


Founded in 1906, Chivas are one of the most successful clubs in Mexico, winning 12 Liga MX titles, seven Campeon de Campeones and four Copa MX championships. Both recent Liga MX and Copa MX titles were won in 2017, and the Concacaf Champions League in 2018, while led by Quakes head coach Matias Almeyda.


Founded in 1944, Club Leon, the defending Liga MX champions (Apertura 2020), have also experienced domestic success. Leon have won eight Liga MX titles, five Copa MX championships and five Campeon de Campeones. Leon’s roster features several national team players from North and South America.


The Earthquakes continue to work closely with Santa Clara County officials on the appropriate social distancing and sanitary protocols for all future stadium events. Stadium staff will ensure that enhanced measures are performed before, during, and after each event at Earthquakes Stadium.
