The San Jose Earthquakes will travel to Southern California to face the LA Galaxy on Wednesday, July 13. The match will kick off from Dignity Health Sports Park at 7 p.m. PT and will be broadcast nationally on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes, as well as via radio on KNBR 1050 (English), and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

The Quakes, who are seeking their first road win of the season, have won three of their last five matches against LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park, most recently defeating them 2-1 in their last visit on Aug. 20, 2021.

With two matches this week for the Earthquakes and their second consecutive game on the road, interim head coach Alex Covelo is aware of the importance the younger players can provide as substitutes for these long stretch of games, just like they did against Toronto last weekend.

“I said that in the locker room [on Saturday] at the end that the subs were sending a message. In order to improve and be better every day, you have to train hard every day,” Covelo said in a press conference following Saturday’s match. “This is not just the starters, these guys are pushing and working hard with lots of respect. Every time you give them an opportunity, they will try their best.”

The LA Galaxy holds an 8-7-3 record this season (27 pts.), occupying fifth in the Western Conference, and will look to bounce back at home after falling to LAFC 3-1 last Friday. The home side features prominent players such as Mexico National Team all-time leading goal scorer Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez, and LA Galaxy homegrown player Efraín Álvarez. Additionally, Douglas Costa, who joined the club prior to the start of the season, is expected to be available for Wednesday’s clash after serving a two-game suspension.

San Jose’s Jeremy Ebobisse, who currently leads the team in goals (10), scored his first Quakes goal against LA in the team’s last visit to Carson. Ebobisse has scored seven goals against the LA Galaxy in his MLS career, tied for second among active MLS players.
