NEWS: Earthquakes Forward Marco Ureña Selected by LAFC in 2017 MLS Expansion Draft

SAN JOSE, Calif. ā€“ Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) has selected San Jose Earthquakes forward Marco UreƱa with the third pick of the 2017 MLS Expansion Draft on Tuesday morning.


UreƱa, 27, joined the Quakes ahead of the 2017 season and made 22 starts in 25 appearances in MLS play, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

The Expansion Draft comes during a busy period of offseason activity. MLS Free Agency will begin at 12 p.m. PT and a list of players eligible for selection in the Waiver Draft will be announced at 3 p.m. PT today. The 2017 MLS Waiver Draft will take place at 12:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday, Dec. 13, followed by the MLS Re-Entry Draft, with Stage One at 12 p.m. PT on Friday, Dec. 15 and Stage Two at 11 a.m. PT on Thursday, Dec. 21.
