NEWS: Earthquakes to Face Seattle Sounders FC in U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 on May 11

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes will face Seattle Sounders FC in the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 on Wednesday, May 11 (7 p.m. PT) at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Wash.

San Jose advanced to the Round of 32 after defeating Bay Cities FC 5-0 on April 19. The Quakes utilized a young lineup, which included six players in the starting XI that were 23 years of age or younger. Highlights can be found here.

Sounders FC is entering the competition in the Round of 32.

The two sides have faced each other five times in the U.S. Open Cup, with San Jose holding a 2-3-0 record. The Earthquakes won the most recent matchup 2-1 on June 28, 2017, at PayPal Park.
