FEATURE: Jean-Julien Foe Nuphaus helps U-19 MNT win first two matches of Slovakia Cup

SAN JOSE (May 8, 2018) ā€“ Quakes Academy defender Jean-Julien ā€œJJā€ Foe Nuphaus is currently competing with the U.S. U-19 Menā€™s National Team at the Slovakia Cup, facing Kazakhstan, Ukraine and the Czech Republic in Group B in the tournament.


On Monday, May 7, the U-19s took on Kazakhstan in their first match of the Slovakia Cup. Foe Nuphaus started the match and helped secure a clean sheet for the U-19s as they defeated Kazakhstan 8-0, and on Tuesday, May 8, he started again in their 2-1 win over Ukraine.


Winning the next match against the Czech Republic on Thursday, May 10 will cement the United Statesā€™ place in the Slovakia Cup Final, which will take place on the 11th.


In his playing career, Foe Nuphaus trained with Germanyā€™s TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for a year before returning to the Quakes Academy in 2016. He has also played for Quakes former PDL affiliate, Burlingame Dragons FC. In 2018, Foe Nuphaus participated in the Quakesā€™ USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC preseason camp. Foe Nuphaus currently plays for the U-19 Quakes Academy squad and is committed to play for University of California, Berkeley, which is also Quakes defender Nick Limaā€™s alma mater.
