NEWS: Five Quakes Girls’ Academy Players Called to U.S. GNT

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Five players form the San Jose Earthquakes Girls’ Academy have been called up to the U-15 and U-14 U.S. Girls’ National Teams. Defender Andrea Kitahata will join the U-15s as they travel to the Netherlands for a training camp from June 3-13, while defenders Elise Evans, Kathryn Kelly, midfielder Yuna McCormack and forward America Frias will unite with the U-14s for a training camp in Chula Vista, Calif. taking place May 26 through June 2.


This is the second training camp of the year for Kitahata and the U.S. U-15 GNT, and their first international trip. They will take on the Dutch on June 10 and again on June 12. Both games will take place in Woerden, Netherlands.


The U-14s will train at the Elite Athlete Training Center, and the Earthquakes have the largest representation of the 27 youth clubs at the camp with Evans, Kelly, McCormack and Frias. The other clubs with multiple players at the camp are Beach FC (3) in Southern California, MVLA (2) in Northern California, NTH Tophat (2) in Georgia, and the San Diego Surf (2) and Real So Cal (2) out of Southern California.
