SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown midfielder Gilbert Fuentes has been called to United States U-17 National Team for the 4 Nations Tournament in Assen, Netherlands from Sept. 5-9. The USA will face Mexico, Netherlands and Denmark at the competition, which will serve as the team’s final official international matches before the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
Fuentes, 17, signed a Homegrown Player contract with the Quakes in January of 2018. He has made two first team appearances for San Jose, while also playing extensively on loan with the club’s USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC.
