As part of adidasā€™ She Breaks Barriers initiative, a global commitment to inspire and enable the next generation of female athletes, creators and leaders by removing barriers in sport, the sports brand launched ā€˜Three Stripe Liveā€™ ā€“ the first-ever globally live-streamed series of girlsā€™ grassroots sports on Twitter.

In March, adidas helped raise awareness to the fact that women in sport lack visibility. Research shows that only 4% of sports media coverage in the U.S. is dedicated to womenā€™s sport. To help adidas create more access, increase visibility and pursue equality and representation in the media, the ā€˜Three Stripes Liveā€™ series of grassroots sports is being live-streamed on Twitter via @3StripeLive

The series of six events kicked off on April 19 at the adidas Windy City Volleyball National tournament in Chicago. The tournament serves as a national qualifying event for the 2019 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships and is one of the largest volleyball tournaments in the U.S. The first live-stream, featuring a matchup between Louisiana club, Wattle Daub, and Chicago club, Sky High, received over 3.7M+ video views.
