NEWS: Earthquakes announce 2020 Theme Nights

2020 promo calendar

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today the promotional calendar and theme nights for home matches during the 2020 MLS regular season. This season’s theme night calendar will see the return of fan favorites like PG&E Heritage Nights with Vietnamese Heritage Night on Saturday, July 11, and Mexican Heritage Night on Saturday, Sept. 19, along with new additions for 2020.

The Earthquakes will kick off the season on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 2:15 p.m. against Toronto FC, presented by Intermedia. The Home Opener will mark the beginning of head coach Matias Almeyda’s second season with San Jose, and the first 7,000 fans will receive a Matias Almeyda bobblehead.

In conjunction with the 25th Season Celebration of MLS, the Quakes will feature Clash Night, presented by Wells Fargo, celebrating the historic era of the San Jose Clash on Saturday, April 11 at 1:45 p.m. against D.C. United.

Other theme night classics returning for the 2020 season include Celebrate 408 on Saturday, May 9 at 6:45 p.m. against LAFC, presented by Audi, and Pride Day on Saturday, June 20 at 6:45 p.m. against Nashville SC. Fans will be treated to both Root Beer Float Night, presented by A&W, and Women’s Soccer Appreciation Night, presented by Good Humor, on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 6:45 p.m. against the New England Revolution. Women’s Soccer Appreciation Night will celebrate the top female athletes around the Bay Area. The regular season will close with Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 1:15 p.m. against the Colorado Rapids.

Continuing the success of last year, Wells Fargo Neighborhood Nights will return for the 2020 season. The Quakes will celebrate and give back to the communities that surround San Jose at each home game, starting with Downtown San Jose for the Home Opener.
