The 2020 Major League Soccer regular season is finally here. Matias Almeyda and company have two Cancún preseasons under their belt and are set for the Quakes Home Opener against Toronto FC this Saturday, Feb. 29 at 2:15 p.m., presented by Intermedia. To begin the new season, additions have been made to Earthquakes Stadium’s fan experience. Here are a few of our favorites.
Matias Bobbleheads – If you see any Chivas fans lining up at Earthquakes Stadium the night before the Home Opener, don’t be alarmed. The Quakes are giving out 7,000 Matias Almeyda Bobbleheads to kick off the 2020 MLS season. Don’t be late and line up early!
New Earthquakes Stadium App – Earlier in February, the Quakes announced a brand-new smartphone application made specifically for Quakes fans. Whether you’re a season ticket holder or about to experience your first Quakes match, this is the easiest way to access your tickets and stay updated on the latest team news. Download the app here.
Mobile drink vendors – For the first time ever at Earthquakes Stadium, fans won’t have to miss any of the match when they’re looking to buy a beer because the stadium concessions will head straight to your seat! The Quakes will also be the first-ever stadium to sell Russian River Brewing beers so that’s pretty cool, too.
Stadium Artwork – Earthquakes Stadium is getting a little makeover in 2020. Checkout the latest installations when you get there, including a collaboration with San Jose artist Sean Boyles at bag check.
Quakes Studio 74 – The former merchandise store located in the concourse behind section 107 has been converted into Quakes Studio 74. The new space will include displays of historical Quakes artifacts, artistic wall graphics and interactive exhibits. The Quakes front office will be rotating the items in the studio to ensure a new experience every matchday.
